My Office

At the end of July our office closed for the day and went to a meeting room on the 6th floor of a downtown building.  Lots of discussion happened that day.  Left to right....Mary, Cathy, Theresa, Glenda, Heidi, Craig, Nancy.
Not Shown, Toni, Beth, Rich, Myself

While we were there a thunder and lightening rainstorm blew through.
It was neat to be 6 floors up.  This is looking at the City-County building.

Freiman Square was right below us

Civic Theater and way to the right is the Art Museum

Glenda, just this week brought in this beautiful, 3 layer, lemon cake that she had made

As you can tell is was a big hit
I needed to get a picture before it was all gone

The frosting was scrumptious!  It was made with whipped cream and sweetened condensed milk.
I am going to have to try it, no more cooking over the stove the 7 minute frosting for me.  This was just the same.
Thanks again Glenda!

A new lid

An odd occurance happened the other day...I captured Sam....reading a book.  I asked who he was, and may I take his picture.  Will wonders never cease.
Sam has never has been one to wear a hat, but this one caught his eye.  He said it felt good on his head.  His eyes always blink at the flash on the camera, so it is hard to get him with both eyes open.  Should he be driving a little sporty convertible?  I think he looks good.

The many faces of Kevin

Here he is posing with his new bow.

Mr. Serious

Kevin and Chip, he is taking him in the barn to brush before the riding lesson.

Kevin, Chip, Allison and Shelby the barn dog.

Got him to wear his glasses today.  I don't think he has had them on since school was out.  He only should use them for reading, and drawing and reading.

finches

I had a couple of goldfinches stop by to feast on my gallardia daisys.
I got some pretty good shots through the window.  The one was not so gold but quite green, so it blended in well.
They are so busy and yack, yack, yack.
Thats how I know they have arrived.

ribbons n things

Last weekend at the Cincinnati Stamp Show it looks like I was on a patterned paper and ribbon binge.  So many pretty things.  I thought this paper fit the whole weekend.

Looks like I picked up a few animal stamps too.

This is the bag I was unpacking with my stamping stuff in it.  Turn my back for a moment and and someone starts occupying it.

The furry boys love it when I work in my room, everyone takes up their self specified places.

After going to Lebanon Ohio we took another 20 minute drive northeast to Waynesville, Ohio.  It also was historical and had lots of shops to go through.  Here are a couple of folk art pieces that took my fancy.

That's such a good picture, I think I will paint him.  Love his black nose.
Smoke, who is 16 years old, he is holding his age pretty well.

Beautiful, beautiful rain

1 1/2 inches of soaking, overnight rain.  That mud never looked so good .
Thank you God, we really appreciated it.
Today, the high was 68 degrees, it was an amazing change in the weather.

One Quilt Top Down

This quilt was started......possibly.....15 years ago.  The pattern came from Quiltmaker Magazine.
The corners  got mitered last night on the border.

Peach triangles still have to be appliqued onto the border at each square and then I will get it ready to quilt.  A warm thing to do in the winter.

It measures 47 X 47 and will be a wallhanging or a lap quilt.

Golden Lamb Inn

This last weekend we made a Girls Weekend Out trip to Cincinnati, OH.
On our way home we made a side trip to Lebanon Ohio to The Golden Lamb Inn for lunch.
Lebanon was a very charming and historical town.

Outside the Inn was a pretty little park.

My friends Toni and Theresa looking very lovely.

rolling cloud

A storm was coming in this morning.
It was an amazing cloud.

It wasn't severe, and we did not get much rain out of it.
I was amazed by the sight.
It's getting closer.

It was so wide I couldn't get all of it.

It is almost over the top of me.  I felt very small compared to the size of this cloud.

Off to the right is the sunrise, the left is the rolling cloud.

Very, very neat!
