Laura

If you haven't read this book you should.  These are still some of my favorite childhood memories.  Sometime before I die I am going to visit the areas where Laura lived.  I did get to Pepin Wisconsin a few years ago and saw a facsimile of The Little House in the Big Woods.  It was fun if you are a Laura follower.
The reason for this post is that I was thinking how long this winter has become.  Here it is March and no big sign that this will warm up much.  Leafing through the book the children can't go to school because of blizzards, they have to twist hay daily to keep the fire going.  Grinding wheat to make brown bread and potatoes is a staple.  The temperature goes to 40 below.
After I read the book I took a deep sigh and was so glad that Almonzo and his brother took their lives in their hands to save the town and went and got supplies.
We may have a little snow tonight and a little snow Friday evening.  The great lakes are 90 percent ice and that doesn't happen much.

Still hoping for warm weather, I bet you are too.
But it's still not as bad as The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Making Cards

I had a nice Sunday making some needed cards and some just for my stash.
Sharing what I came up with.
It helped scratch my creativity itch.
Hope you enjoy.
